I am sure I heard it say dont be frightened I only came for a drink is that Ok with you, I told the wasp to help itself as it settled on one of the water lily pads while drinking its fill I asked for a photo or two, go for it said the wasp but be quick as I cant stay long..

When I rang at 3 this afternoon she was doing fine, thank God, sitting up with a drip in her leg. She did have a quite bad pyometra. I of course will not be happy till she's back home, that can't happen soon enough. She will feel so much better once she gets over her spey.

Our beautiful little rainforest bird the Noisy pitta has made its presence obvious again , I don't know where it goes but it leaves us for a few months . Being a ground hopping bird it can't go too far . It usually breeds in nov. to jan.but with climate change maybe it will change that too.

It is such a lovely bird but quite shy and impossible to photograph. Here is a link.see 2 pages.

I have just experienced the loveliest 15 minute show put on by a pair of Yellow breasted Sunbirds.

Right outside my full length window I have quite a few pots with plants waiting for John to plant out.

The largest of the plants is about 3 ft high with 5 flowers in a cluster opened.[ purple ]

The are male and female sunbirds perched on this Bauhinia blakeand, beaks in and out of the flowers gathering nectar and chirping a delightful song. so beautiful.

Waiting their turn are a pair of Lewins ...

The little Sun Bird , Nectarinia jugularis makes a lovely nest lined with soft materials from the garden.I used to have some Old Mana Beard hanging from a tree and wondered why it looked less every time I checked ot which was not often.

An old nest fell down some time ago and I found it was lined with , you know what.

Checked that area yesterday only to find all the Old Mans Beard has gone completly so I am now without any .I really don't mind , I get beautiful cheerful little birds.

Found this Saunders Case Moth caterpillar climbing up a palm tree on the weekend. Don't usually see them out of their case.

When we got a bit too close it quickly hid back in its case.

We didn't know what this was as first until it spun a web and realised it was a spider. Did a search and found it was a Whip or Stick spider. They are very thin, only about 1mm wide but about 2 or 3cm long.

Thankfully the other side of their big yard is only muddy

Water everywhere at the back

It only seeps out a little at the time.

This poor little waterlily looks like its going under for the last time

I wonder how long it will take to dry up this time...
