Perhaps some kind of Pekin Duck mixed with another

Could be the Male as it has pretty coloured wings

This one could be the Female.

They certainly were great Mates its life long for ducks.

This is my neighbours White African Daisy mate to the pink one she gave me.

It was looking very sad and droopy the day I took this so I dropped her a hint

Noela has to look after this one as I am after a cutting..

I had to hold this flower stem up..

My one did not like the heat either so I watered it well the first few days

Today I decided to tackle some of the odd jobs that had been put on the back burner. I finally finished the crystal thingamajig, it was my first job today...very hard to take a photo of this piece..

Next I hung some flippy, flappy things from the Liquidamber tree...

Surely they will keep the flys 'offa' our dinner...lol..

Looking up from below that paved area, across my pink azaleas.

Finally...here is the $2 clock..it shall most probably be moved onto the verandah.

Yesterday Ross dug out all the grass from this area, which used to be home to the weeping cherry tree. He did a fabulous job, it was hard work, but it looks so promising for planting. Today I shall get soil and manure and top it up. The plant in urn will be replaced..not sure with what as yet. I want a weepy looking plant...any ideas, thanks?

I am hoping to keep this little garden rather open...maybe have a few annuals and some bulbs???

Maybe it was planted there when it was the Roma Street goods yard for the Railway

And perhaps the Greenies would not let it be removed, does anyone know.

I thought they were a weed in all parts of Queensland Perhaps they are after the narcotics in them

Camphor laurel is the most toxic weed species in Australia today so I wonder why is it there

I loved the setting it was in with the hundreds of Cyclamen around ...

Here are a few photos from our brief break camping at Milbrodale.

All our cooking was done over the camp-fire as the weather was great. Of a night we sat around the fire...the sky was a blaze of stars....the frogs played a tune or two for us, all in all in was very peaceful, totally relaxing.

This type of camping is what we used to do years ago...although in those days we had no power and a tent was the go. An Esky kept the food cold...not always successfully...the very same Esky was used ...

I missed some good opportunities for photo's on the way home from the vet, and all because it was late and I wanted to get things covered because we're having a frost tomorrow. Couldn't stop. First some rams around a fodder roll, merinoes with those lovely big horns. Next a pair of black swans in a crop paddock, and finally some kangaroos just half a mile from home. I did get this photo when I got home though, it may be the solitary wether playing King of the castle. LOL.

We went out for a relaxing few hours yesterday to Cedar Grove at Amamoor in Mary Valley which is in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

There was a short 1km bushwalk through rainforest following a section of Amamoor Creek which is a popular swimming area in summer, not so much in winter Most of it is less than knee deep

At least we didn't have to get wet crossing it like some of the other bushwalks around here. I was expecting my daughter to go for a dip though as she decided to skip ...

Had a great day on Friday in the City of Brisbane went for a ride on the City Cat

Up and down the river I was amazed at some of the things I seen

There are some nice looking buildings there, to me anyway..

Customs House is a cultural, educational and heritage facility

Of the University of Queensland.

Great Looking Paddle Steamer:

The Ferry terminals/stops look good too.

This Mansion reminds me a little of Tara in Gone with the wind.

Too bad if you wanted to have a picnic near the water

Its a little flooded though the birds love it..

Somewhere under that water is the dock where the boys with their toys play.

Sunday mornings they are down there with the remotes scaring the ducks away.

Due to a lack of new picies, I've gone into the archive photo's and found a pic not posted before .

This is the house where my Mum lived on our block and was removed just over a year ago..

During a gale force wind a tree came down on the house , messy, but as the house was well insured it did'nt cost us anything for repairs.

When we were out the other day we stopped at Wappa Dam and Falls for a quick look after the torrential rain on the Sunshine Coast. For those that don't know, the dam is a small one on the South Maroochy River just inland of Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast. I haven't been there for years and hadn't seen it full. The noise of the rushing water was unbelievable but the photos don't do justice to the amount of water rushing over there.

Houses get old, so do people and the younger generation do not want to work the land..

Thats why there are so many properties around our area like this old Queenslander..

They are also on huge areas of land 21 Hectares this one is, two roads away from us.

We have watched it fall apart over the nine years we have lived here

Then last year it was spruced up a bit with a coat of paint

Not a good job really I think I liked it better when it had that weathered grey look.

Not sure toys is really the correct word, the whipper snipper is hard work, though much faster that the hand held variety. It could do with a larger fuel tank and a better designed filter.

I first came across sleepy one night a couple of weeks back.

I think it was the night I took the pics of the Night Flowering Epiphyllum hookeri

There it was asleep in the bird bath and I woke poor sleepy up..

I think I did the same thing this morning..

There it was sound asleep on this old garden ornament.

And I started clicking away with my camera poor sleepy..

I reckon it started to give me the evil

I was fascinated by the gold in its eye look ...
