| Great series of pics and a lovely plant. We see them down here a lot in older gardens but for some reason you don't see them around much in nurseries here... one of those plants that goes in and out of fashion. It is a shame as it is a good reliable grower. | |

| Thanks all . Gail I have tried to get a plant for over a year, they grew here 20 years ago but they went out of fashion can't understand why. Limberlost Nurseries Cairns is where I got one , they said they don;t get a call for it much. | |

| Oh that's lovely, Gwen! I've never heard of that Hibiscus, I suppose it's a tropical one. It's very pretty and the colour change is marvellous. | |

| Val, they grow anywhere an ordinary hibiscus will grow... don't like frosts but fairly tough otherwise... grasshoppers don't mind a feed off them but no different to many other plants. | |

| I always thought Hibiscus syriacus common name was Rose Of Shanon. It must be very confusing to some all these same common names for different plants. | |

| I've always known this one as Rose of Sharon, that's what my mother always called it. There used to be a big one hang over our fence when I was a kid... as my kids would say "centuries ago" ... and I used to always be picking the flowers and playing with them. | |
