| I'll get so more seed in the mail tomorrow Cheryl, when we do the Big Smoke thinge Pleased to hear that the first of your seed is up tessa Well my red onions didn't behave themselves this season ,they grew a good sized onion and then there tops dried off like normal onions ,instead maintaining green tops through winter.Ended pulling them out and are now in the shed, photo later The seed from these onions are a generation behind the seed you have tessa These onion are Pukekohe long keepers and should keep us going most of the year | |

| are those onions very sweet, richard? i MUST have sweet onions. one thing i've enjoyed about the (limited) varieties available here in perth...is that most of them sweet. back home...the brown onions were are dry and sharp. that's why i thought i hated onions. then someone gave me a brown spanish and it was love at first sight. since then i've been trying to grow brown spanish onions...but no luck EVER. dang. | |

| Tessa those Pukekohe long keepers are a strong tasting onion but as the name suggests they keep well into spring, we like them, kids dont If you like shallots Cheryl you would like the tree onion to the left in the crate. | |

| I like red onions best too. Last year I planted hundreds of onion seedlings I'd raised from seed. They were doing really well until we had a sudden hot spell and they all shot to seed ! | |
