currently...i do not have to pay to receive calls. the caller pays.

Doesn't stop them all though... still get plenty of charities, etc ringing up... I will not donate money over the phone

I've got good at cutting them off now,we would have two or three per week ringing up,a few months ago i had a call from a Indian speaking fella,i asked him whats the weather like in India today and hung up before he could answer

Ian will just put the phone down and let the caller ramble on and hang-up 15 minutes later

They drive me crazy at work and I blocked all our main numbers. prior to that you get a bit of a delay and then they ask to speak to the Manager , and I put them on hold Get the odd one at home and just tell politely to p.....off

Thanks for that Cheryl....have updated our records.... & yes agree regards charities ringing....we already support two charities each month & it does annoy me that they still ring looking for more!!

It's a hoax email that's been doing the rounds for a while.

strange you should say that , there is a Gov. one that does the same for landlines and I did all the works ones over than a few months agos and they have cut back by 80%

Re the charities requesting donations...I was told by one of them you have ask each individual charity to remove you from their call list. I have asked a couple of them and I always ask for the caller's name, I tell then I make notions of all such calls. It seems to have worked.
We donate to our selected charities...we can't give to every single one.
