well i got seeds in the mail and they are in the punnet right now.
haven't sprouted yet tho.

some of the other onions have sprouted...early california reds, odourless, and creamgold are all up...while spanish white is, yet again, a no-show. seems i cannot grow a spanish onion to save my life.

carrots, swedes and beets will be the mainstays....along with potatoes and swiss chard.

bring on winter. as pieface once said: "in winter, at least we stand a chance"

I planted white and brown onions yesterday, along with carrots, more tomatoes and shallots. I've got to hurry up and get a few more things going too.

Tommies do ok here in winter as long as I start them before it gets cold. Hopefully should get tomatoes all through winter... fingers crossed.

I have cut the green manure up in the biggest bed and planted a punnet of lettuce on Thursday also planted lots of Cos lettuce seeds I love to eat the lettuce when they are babies..

The sugar snap peas will go in real soon, the radish I planted I am not happy with the ones from Eden Seeds they have been in about a month and look like red bits of cotton no shape on them at all they are supposed to be round lots of the Sp Onions are up.

Yesterday I cut up the other green manure bed and dug it in I will be planting brown onions seeds there real soon..

Tony has planted Pak Choi and Spinach in the far garden bed for the chooks as there is not much grass here in the dry season.. The pumpkin vine planted in 2007 still has 2 pumpkins on it but I am pulling it out this year as I am sick of seeing it up the garden path thats a Kent one the grey pumpkin only has one on it.

Might grow some spuds it all depends on the water situation.

Plenty of red tomatoes on the volunteer plant and the Beef Steak seedlings I bought back in hang on *I will just pop over to the other site, it was last January gee that's sites slow over there tonight* they are quite big all they need to do it ripen up..

The two bunches of dont seem to be colouring up it has not been a hot Summer.. The last lot of cukes are producing very well after Tony took 36 caterpillars on them last week
