I was so excited when I seen this little one before as we miss Spikey so much. Spikey R.I.P. I took this last April when I caught it eating the sugar snaps peas plants We now know for sure that it was the dead Bearded Dragon spikey in the gutter late last year.. Tony tells me two weeks ago he has seen a couple of baby spikeys in the garden down the back. I told him you cannot call them spikey so he has decided on different names.. The smaller one he named Smokey and he has lifted it up and put it the Banana palm As it was on the grass in front of the mower just as well Tony was looking where he was going Meet Dusty its about 18 cms or 7 inches its the bigger of the two. I found it in the Centradenia grandiflora that I grew from a cutting off Gail I am so happy that we have the Bearded Dragons back again...

What a handsome guy Spikey was, Mary-Anne. Can fully understand you missing the poor fellow. The baby is gorgeous, bet he can move fast. Nice photo's.

Yes it was Betty it had been on our block five years could be more, Spikey was often seen sunning itself on the road base driveway once I almost wheeled the barrow over it such good camouflage, we think Spikey was a Female as we often seen the little ones around though they never stayed, hopefully these two will.. It was always up to mischief, it would go and sun itself on the woodpile ( that's firewood as in logs ) near the chook yard and when the girls started going off we soon got to know it was Spikey taking a short cut through their yard, your truly would often get down on her tummy and take pics at its level and I would talk to it..It was not frightened of us as all and liked the camera.. It never run from us if we spotted it, it will stay that way till we are gone then move off... Same as the little one this morning and the smaller one that stopped in front of the mower recently scary at times I tell you..

Lizards and frogs, you guys have the coolest animals, although I guess you have to take the good with the bad, at least my dog isnt gonna scare anything that will bite her hiding in the garden

They are so lovely Richard we do have great reptiles here.. Cant blame your camera all the time Richard I have a Canon 40D and still take out of focus pics Don't seem to have a very steady hand anymore...Its called Old age bugga Di I reckon that why we have so many creatures in our garden because we dont have a dog anymore, the dog would kill it, it would not have a chance against a dog... When we lived in Melbourne we came home one day to see a deflated blue tongue lizard on the driveway seems our two Ridgebacks played catch with it with their teeth, nearly broke my heart as I love reptiles it was no small one either but did not stand a chance with two large dogs

Those water dragons are in all the parks and gardens here, dont have any in our garden as its usually a bit on the dry side here.. Not this month though Its rained all day here not real heavy but you cant do anything outside.. Hundreds of skinks here hiding under the mulch, I hate it when the Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree and dives down and grabs one..
