They are such a sunny bird .I have a cord that hangs down outside my window, its from the canvas sunblind . The pair of sunbirds[mated for life] come there throughout the day looking for insect and threads of spiders web to build and repaid their nests,They hang on the cord or on the window ledge and give us lovely birdsongs. When the babies are about 8 days they sit at the rim of the nest to spread their wings to strenghthen them ,sometimes they topple out and have to be put back. The big day comes when they have to leave the nest never to return.
The mum and dad bird perch on a close by tree and start calling them, they eventually take the plunge and fly from the nest then the mun and dad sheppard them all around from tree to tree, they do this for a week till the babies learn the ropes .They are such good parents.
