| Mine were in my little hot house type of thing - ex-aviary now enclosed on 3 sides with plastic shadecloth, 4th side will be enclosed over winter. | |

| That sounds like a good idea Gail...I have an old aviary that is not being used. I offered it to a friend for his kids but he has not taken me up on it - so maybe it is about to become "my little house thing". Plastic shadecloth???? | |

| Daniel, I haven't seen that plastic shadecloth around for years, actually used to be called waterproof shadecloth. We've had it for about 15 or 20 years now. It is shadecloth that has a plastic type coating on both sides so is very strong and waterproof. | |

| mary-anne! thanks for posting all that info. i so rarerly ever get to learn how my seed saving techinique goes as far as success rate. sounds pretty ok!
oh...they are such little babies, eh? let's hope they soldier on and foil the FF.
dan....just buy some builder's plastic from the bunnings. that's what i used for my greenhouse walls. NEVER ripped, tore, or got holes in it at any time over the winter.

| darn our tommie season is finished down here what type of tomato is "scotia"
Tessa bunnings used to sell that water proof shade cloth , maybe its not available anymore when they first opened over here they had a really good range of good quality products but most seem to have gone by the way side now

| there is something called polyshade, which is a plastic shadecloth, but it's 99.9% shade...and what good would that be for a greenhouse? | |

| Thanks Tessa .. I will write everything down as I transplant I may go to a bigger pot or maybe straight into the garden bed all depends how cold it gets as sometimes we have very bad frosts here in July and I dont want to loose them.. These ones should be big enough for the garden before that happens I will cover them in the cold nights
I will plant four more seeds in 6-8 weeks that way we should have continuous plants growing..

| mm its got me thinking tessa , the product I meant is meant for greenhouses and was opaque/white with green running through it but it was a long time ago I am pretty sure it was made by a company called sarlon anyway good luck with all your growing | |

| I'll take a picture of mine during the week. It is a pale pinkish colour and lets a fair bit of light through... can't remember what percentage now but great for shade lovers and starting cuttings, etc. It lasts a long time, had ours for 15 or 20 years now. | |
