We found this little frog in the corner of the window. It is slightly different to others we've had. I've been looking through the frog ID sites but can't ID it - it doesn't quite fit any of the descriptions - so I've asked at a frog forum but still waiting for a reply.

Much cuter than one I dug up when planting roses this evening. Mine was a burrowing frog and covered with dust. LOL. Maybe yours is an albino something??

Cheryl, that is my son's hand... he isn't an outdoor worker... unless he has to be club

Still waiting for a definite ID. Was one reply but didn't quite fit... a Desert Tree Frog, Litoria rubella... it is supposed to have colouring inside its thighs. I'll wait and see if there are any other replies.

Betty, we get those burrowing ones too http://gardendelights.forumco.com/topic~TOPIC_ID~3085.asp

Karingal, your frogs might just be shy winky-winky

Gail, alas, my burrowing frog here is very drab compared to yours. It just looks brown all over, no markings. Cute though.

Mary-Anne, we also get the Stoney Creek Frog,
Litoria wilcoxi, they are common here, but they have black markings on their thighs, this new one doesn't have any other markings except on its face. This is a Stoney Creek frog we've found

Gail I know that I remember from when you posted that pic before.

Not all Litoria wilcoxi have markings on them like that some Males dont.
They just go that yellow colour in the mating season..

It will certainly be interesting to see which of the Litoria species it is.

I love frogs. We have mostly beige coloured frogs here. I wish I had your knowledge in identifying them. ONe day I will spend the time to do that ....

I had to rescue one from the toilet bowl rim in my accommodation the other day - it must have jumped in through the window as the insect screen is off the bathroom window there. It took a few flushes for me to get it in a cloth and take it outside.

The experts have spoken on the frog ID site worship apparently it is definitely a Desert Tree Frog, Litoria rubella.

Mary-Anne, black markings on the thighs of Stony Creek frogs is an identifying feature, it is the yellow colouring that is variable.

Pamela, they are such slippery little things, it would be a difficult job to get one out gasp

I didn't realise there were so many different frogs around here at first, thought they were all just tree frogs until I started looking at them harder. I don't know how many different ones we've found now... one of these days I will have to go through all my photos and work it out.
