Poor silly snake

This yellow faced whip snake had a run in with the mower. Ian was mowing up behind the house in thick grass and he didn't even see the snake until he walked over it. It had obviously stuck its head up when the mower went over it. With half its nose missing we put it out of its misery It was only about 30cm long and no thicker than a pencil.

I think there would be nothing worse than getting eaten alive by ants or any other insects or creatures..

Poor fellow...are they harmless?

They are mildly venomous... could make child or elderly person or small pet sick but not likely to worry a healthy adult. These would have to be the most common snake we have here though it's the first one I've season this last season.

We have them here also Gail, but the snake we see most of are the green or brown tree snake.
