Tabebuia 'Carib Queen'

This is a little grafted, hybrid Tabebuia. This one is evergreen and not deciduous like many of them. Eventually it will get to be a modest 18-20 feet with an equal spread. I got it from a Florida nursery and planted it out in January. So far it has done fine for me. I suspect it will require more Summer watering than the Tabs one usually finds in SoCal. Judging from this first little bloom (and two other buds) looks to be a winner.

There's a similar coloured one in the car park of Woolworths on Gympie Road at Aspley/Chermside (not sure which it would be), opposite Marchant Park. I've noticed it the last few seasons because the colour is so different to the norm. I keep meaning to tale a photo but never remember.
