| Its supposed to be white and I am sure it was white last year. The Label states its White Fantasy... This year its more a lilac or mauve colour Maybe the bees have been visiting the pinky/purple ones below it. If it looked like this one from Cheryl's I could understand but its not. As half of it is sitting in that white ones basket.. Nature does strange things sometimes.. Cute little Freesia Laxa again.. And the Double Red Poinsettia still flowering its head off... | |

| The white zygo is my favourite, yours might lighten more as it ages. Mine is still only has buds so far.
Others are pretty. Can't wait until my poinsettia grow a bit more, still only about a metre high.

| I don't know if that Zygo will lighten Gail as I found an aged flower on the ground the same colour.. Its something to look forward too that double red Poinsettia what a sight they are and so high, well past 2 metres now.. I only pruned them three times last year and with all that rain one of them has got a little leggy so I will prune more this wet season if it is like the last one as most are so lovely and bushy now. | |

| Thinking the same thing Gwen.. Or maybe its from the stigma of your pink one Cheryl there is a bit of purple in them.. I just found that Lighter colored flowers like whites, yellows, and apricots can get pink or purple colorings if the temperature drops below 13 degrees Celsius within a few days of the buds opening. Well with temps lower than that the past week its any wonder.. I should have thought of that as my white Iceberg roses are doing the same thing and that is something I had already known.. | |

| Interesting to know about the zygo. I'll take an extra note of my white one when it comes out. I do know that all the flowers on my light pink one which only opened a few days ago are now mainly white and limp... obviously doesn't like minus temps | |

| It must have been Mary-Anne sent that. It should flower next year for you. I've had some flower when they only have a few segments, others won't until they are bigger. | |

| Thanks for that info , I'll have to be patient then till next year.I have an Anthurium on the same tree but I'm thinking of potting it and later putting it in the garden as It does not seem to be growing any bigger . There were 2 Anthuriums on the tree and one was getting very unwell looking I got Faye to pot it for me . It was in the pot about 5 weeks and put out a lovely healthy leaf. I had John plant it in a shade garden last week and it seems to .like that. The one on the tree still is a red one ,the one in the garden is mauve.I see Marlene put on a post recently with her Anthuriums in the garden and they were growing to perfection. | |

MA said she got hers from you .I Googled glauca , it sure is a lovely one and they say its tropical.

| Gwen, even though many anthuriums are epiphytes I think they do much better in the ground where the moisture levels are more consistant but must be well drained. Their native areas generally have a higher, more regular rainfall. The more modern hybrids have also been bred for pot use.
I'm not positive which galphimia that is, probably glauca. It grows about 1 to 1.5m in full sun or light shade and are drought resistant. We've never watered ours after they were established and only give them an occasional trim if they need it which isn't often... only ever trim one which is near a pathway and occasionally gets a bit too wide for that area. They are rarely without a flower. I'll try and get a photo of mine later.
