Remember these little Scotia tommys, the seeds from Tessa were planted a week earlier.

Update On Scotia Tomato Seedlings Tessas-Scotia--17409-IMG_5339

Now look at them nearly four week since I planted the seeds.

Update On Scotia Tomato Seedlings Little-Toms-5509-IMG_7458

Might put them in a garden bed tomorrow or do you reckon I should pot them up.
As the bed I want to put them is at the side of the house in the open
And gets the frost as its on the South East..

Doing well thumb2

I'm planning on putting my new ones in pots up against the brick wall on the northern side of the house to keep warm over winter. The other bigger ones are in the garden but only one garden may get a frost if it is very heavy, the other garden is higher and doesn't frost... yet anyway.

Hi Girls yes I am really happy with them .. I will plant a few more seeds at the end of June..

Gail my North wall is the back decking and that's where they are living now its so sunny and warn there..

Cheryl it will be soon I think whistle

The only thing about potting them up Gwen is if we gets frosts it usually the last week in July so that's about 10 weeks away and they are going to be tall and bushy by then.

Tony is going to make a frame and we can cover them over the top and sides if we do get frosts, I will give them another couple of weeks in those tubes and then plant them in the garden bed, they are very leggy I may put more seed mix in those tubes its Ok to plant tomatoes lower than the soil line isn't it..

And what about feeding them while they are in the tubes, yes or no.. Its been a few years now and I forget... Question

I put more seed raising mix in those little tubes and filled them up to 1cm from the top, and fed them some Maxicrop with a sprinkle of Potash in the water as well, that will do for a couple of weeks then I will put them in the garden bed..

My tomatoes are towards the end and yours are just starting, Mary-Anne, but as you have just a few, as I do myself now, I thought I should tell you what I do against the frost. I just put up a beach umbrella over them. Easy to take down each morning and only needs to go up when frost is forecast. Of course mine come with stakes that whack into the ground, with holders on the side you just slot the umbrellas down into - courtesy of my dog showing days. Just a thought anyway.

But Question where they are... Is any one's guess..

Plenty of brollies here old just used a little and two news ones, gee I just gave that big Bunnings one to my daughter as it wasn't worth a pinch of ....

Some one nicked our Beach brolly out of our shed when we lived in Townsville had to be the neighbours on that side where the fence was.. club

Planted the seedlings into the garden bed late yesterday..

Put them in real deep too, had a terrible time getting them out of those long tubes wont plant seeds in them again not a great amount of roots on the seedlings either.. I gave them a drink of Seasol after thoroughly wetting that bed gee it was so dry I was shocked as it was one of those beds I grew the green manure crop in and even after digging it in I watered it now and again..

Have not looked at them this morning so I hope they are ok..

I planted my seeds later than you Mary-Anne; they took forever to germinate and slowly push their way up through the soil. I have three so far, but only a couple of cm tall. They are still in the pots. Broccolini planted same day are now out in the garden and probably 10cm tall. I do not get to see them during the week this time of year so will have a look when the sun comes up

They're doing well, just hope it stays warm enough to keep it up... not looking forwards to next week when the temps are supposed to drop and there is a slight frost risk.

Yes - I heard the forecast...not really friendly is it? I wonder if I should put a piece of glass over my seedlings.
