| This is the lovely little plantFaye bought and John planted last week. Its called Angelonia serena lavender .Its classed as an annual but some sites say it could be a perennial in tropics , we shall see . It grows anywhere from 12 inches to 18 inches , bushes naturally and is always in flower, comes in PURPLE, WHITE, LAVENDER and PINK. Sites say it will grow from vic to the tropics.I think its a cute plant.I hope it grows as a perennial. Angelonia serena. common nams . summer snapdragon. | |

| Very pretty Gwen I like the lighter colour. Ah Yes Angelonia another common name is Granny's Bonnet any wonder people get confused. It was a perennial in my garden Gwen, when it was three years old it just died. | |

| It used to be sold here as Grannys Bonnet too. We had a darker purple one, not sure what happened to it over the years. They are very pretty, and as you say, never without a flower. | |

| One site I looked at for Angelonia info said always take cuttings when you plant nears its 1st birthday , that way you will have a supply of younger plants comming along to replace any that get exhausted and die. | |

| In the southern states Grannys Bonnets are usually aqulegias but they are angelonias up here. We used to have a large range of colours at a nursery I used to work in (that's where I got mine from) but this was many years ago so not sure if they are still called GBs now. They do only last a few years but I think a regular hard trim will keep them going longer. | |

| I think like many plants these days they revive plant sales by bringing out plants that you don't see around much and giving them new names and fancy labels... which isn't always a bad thing as these plants are so pretty and easy to care for and have nearly non-stop flowering... I think these sort of perennials beat annuals any day. | |
