These are occasional visitors to our garden... drop in every month or so but see them more often down in the gully. Usually only two of them but looks like they have had a baby. One of them has pale grey head so guessing it is a youngster. Sorry about poor quality pictures, taken through the insect screen from the lounge room early this morning.

I forgot to turn the flash off for this first one so it reflected off the screen but one of the birds flew off just after so is the only picture with the three birds

I had a look at this link on the White-headed pigeon and noticed that it prefers to feed on Camphor Laurel fruits and because the trees are being cut down, the numbers of birds are decreasing.

Interesting bird Gail.. Great that there is a young one.

You know I don't think I have every seen that bird could be because there is no food around here for them.

They are a fairly shy bird and not that common around built up areas as there probably isn't enough fruit for them to eat... unless there are plenty of camphor laurels winky-winky
