Rainbow Lorikeet feather stuck to a branch of the Grevillea pteridifolia
Right in my face as I walked up the path along the side of the house
It was very small only 2 cms long and wide..
I was looking for cobwebs and I was gasp as I did not find any.. Very Happy

Do you reckon it would work well as a lure when fishing.

Trying out my new lens right where this Blue faced honeyeater was.
Up the top of the Grevillea banksii white tree,
Looks like its turning into a adult male as around the eye colour is changing to the blue.
Either that or its a old bird.. Very Happy

Not many insects around this morning though I did find this fly.
On the Jacaranda's leaves some of the trees still have them some dont.
Amazing how big those ferny type leaves look taken with a macro lens.

I did end up finding a cobweb of sorts the block is covered with these ones.

Thanks Fay .. I took these very early this morning when the dew was everywhere and the sun had not been up that long and with it shining on that fly it looks almost metallic and some of those flies have pretty colours on them, so do beetles, I think Mother Nature is very generous the way she gives such beautiful colours to our garden critters..

Gwen.. If I was a fish I would snap it up too.

Gwen did I tell you that my new lens weighs 1.190 gms thats more than 2½ lbs and I can only use it on a monopod or tripod its a 300mm Telephoto lens its a Prime not a Zoom and strickly for the birds and the moon if it ever rises in the evening again Very Happy , one day I will get to Dubbo Western Plains Zoo so I can take pics of the animals from afar.. I can take pics of flowers with it from a distance but I prefer my little old Macro lens I love you for that, which I used for the other three pics I use that one more than any of my lenses..

Hope that baby bird enjoyed the flowers flower

We get the occasional greenbottle blowie here but don't see as many now as we used to when we were kids.

The morning dew is good for finding those spiderwebs thumbs-up

Lovely photo's , Mary-Anne. I particularly like the feather, even without the memory it evoked. Beautiful colours. I used to have a cattle dog that was scared of little feathers like that. Laughing The smaller and more downy, the worst she would shy away if you tried to show it to her.
