Todays effort.

Here is where I have spent my day, tidying up this area. The standard Grevillea (G.grassfire) is shown in first pic as it was prior to planting in March this year. Today I removed the stakes..so here is hoping that all will be well. There are flower capsules forming again...YAY...to the right of the mask is a hint of red....that my baby flower.
I think it will be beautiful when it gets even longer in foliage.
The third pic is another Std Grevillea (different area) that I have...once again it shall be lovely when it grows a tad.






I am beginning to really love these std. Grevillea plants... hhmm... I need more garden space...lol..
I have never seen these plants locally.. I bought both at a little garden nursery at Gladestone (NSW) ...a darn shame that the local nurseries don't lift their game and sell such diverse plants.

Gee, they look great, Fay. Much nicer than a Grevillea bush. Come down here and I'll let you fill up all the vacant spaces here if you like. Wonder if my sister would like to try grafting some grevilleas?

Great Pics I've not heard of standard Grevillea . I WILL INVESTIGATE .
You say you got it from a nursery ib Gladstone , does that mean it grows in QLD OK .

Looks interesting Fay, yes I can imagine a ground cover hanging down like that. I have never seen them around this way either..

Gwen Grevillea grow in Qld I grow a few myself.. You would probably find that the root stock is most likely Grevillea robusta aka Silky Oak that are native to the East Coast and as tough as old boots..

Thanks folks, MA is correct the understock of the first G. is G. robusta. I'm not sure what was used for the second Grevillea... it looks more spindly and the trunk hasn't fattened up as yet.

MA I have grown many Grevillea , the cultivars only live 5 years here then die the common native ones last forever . I was meaning I had never heard of a standard Grevillea,I have researched the subject and they grow in the tropics if you can find a specialised nursery
