| I bought a nice bush yesterday, one that is double budded - Lili Marlene and Iceberg. This is not a good photo, the bush is worse for wear from being in the store, I think It'll be lovely later. I can't view the entire photo, hope you all can. | |

| I hadn't thought of it that way, Mary-Anne. I hadn't even considered buying a double budded one, but these roses must have been put together for Xmas and that bright red Lili Marlene was too nice to leave behind. Should look great and should bloom nicely for Xmas next year. Better than a wreath. | |

| Very nice, Betty Lili Marlene is a stunning scarlet isn't she. It certainly will look amazing with Iceberg! | |

| Stunning is the word for her, Val. I hope the bush survives and likes it here. | |

| Very, very nice Betty....I have always admired the 'two for one' roses. Let us know how they fare, please? | |

| Funny how our tastes change. I would not have considered a two for one before but now I must take a look at the choices they offer - Treloars I mean. The roses are blooming well at the moment but we have a forecast of 35, 40, 30 and 35, starting next Tuesday, so guess I'll have a lot of flowers in the house again. I'd rather have them on the bushes but they just burn to a crisp. I'll certainly post photo's if this double budded one takes off. | |

| Betty that sure is stunning . It will look fab when it gets established in your garden . I have never hear of 2 colours on one rose before , would one be grafted onto the other . I KNOW NAUGHT ABOUT ROSES. | |

| I nearly bought one once Betty when my friend bought one from GE, I am so glad I didn't now as hers died very quickly and I guess mine would have too.
Yours is a bush type roses isn't it.. Sounds like you are in for some very hot weather Betty and we all know some of our roses don't like that I do hope yours will be ok.
Gwen they have been out for years, one of my friends who lives in Yeppoon bought a pink and white Standard from Garden Express.. Both roses were grafted into the one stock. | |

| I made a mistake with those temperatures, it is two 40C days in a row, not 40 then 30.(I wish.) We can't have standards here, Mary-Anne, too windy, and I was lucky enough to be told that before I started buying roses. We did actually have standard roses here when we shifted in but back in those days we weren't getting freaky wind gusts of over 100klm an hour. I saved lots of bags from the chaff and sheep pellets and they go up to shade my rose bushes on the real hot days. I'll pick any roses in the mornings that I don't want burnt to a crisp. | |

| Thanks, Cheryl. Couldn't we come up with some superb combinations if we knew all about grafting? | |

| We certainly could Betty I tried to graft Sea Foam on to one of my Standard stock had no success I have the Standards because of my bad back less bending over when pruning and dead heading.. I would want Oranges and Lemons with a touch of cream. Sounds good enough to eat | |

| Grafting is something I should learn. I suspect it's like learning to do dog's claws and clean their teeth with scalers, I thought I'd never be able to do that! As my sister said though, you'd need to have the same growth habit in both roses. I had to redo my rose list before and I now have 120 roses. Going well, and still plenty of room for more. | |
