| Here are a few photos from our brief break camping at Milbrodale. All our cooking was done over the camp-fire as the weather was great. Of a night we sat around the fire...the sky was a blaze of stars....the frogs played a tune or two for us, all in all in was very peaceful, totally relaxing. This type of camping is what we used to do years ago...although in those days we had no power and a tent was the go. An Esky kept the food cold...not always successfully...the very same Esky was used as a seat...very few fold-up chairs in those days. The lake was used as for body hygiene...I remember my BIL going in with a cake of soap and coming out with two...lol.. The only downside from those early days of camping, the loo was a drop toilet...and it was so, so on the nose. The first photo was taken en route through the vineyards, the second is the Aboriginal art Baiame and the third is the sunset from our camp...to the right of that photo is the windscreen of the bus. I only had a few minutes to grab a pic...the sun sinks so quickly. | |

| Sounds like you both had a Bonza weekend Fay.. What a glorious sight that sunset is, and the low hanging cloud over that hill is a sight to see also. That's was my kind of holiday sure wish I could do it now. But sadly I cant the body needs a little more comfort.. | |

| Makes me wish for the days we used to go camping before kids came along. Looks a beautiful area, I'd love to explore places like that.
We still have all our camping gear... including the portable loo... but don't have a tent anymore. Ian is always talking about making a camper trailer to suit us all but we wouldn't get a chance to use it. | |

| Lovely photo's, Fay. Sounds like we all love camping. LOL. I do too, in fact I preferred to camp in a tent on some showgrounds when dog showing to staying at a Motel. Love the cloud down over the mountain in that first shot. | |

| Here are a few pics of Knorrit Flat Riverside Retreat. The river runs alongside the camping area, you can stand on the river bank and look down into the river. There were some rapids, slightly upstream, but we had no access by land and 'this little black duck' wasn't going in the water...bbbrrr The first one is a dodgy pic is of a kangaroo, it was taken at dusk...there were six or so...a bit far away, but I managed to get this shot. The second pic is standing on the river bank, looking across the water at the reflection of the hills in the background. Finally, a pic of the park with our bus looking like a miniature Tonka toy.. | |
