| The horse bowl is what I call our Lily Pond the birds love it And every day lately I have to top it up. I am surprised that these dear creature can splash out so much water Its the Blue Faced Honeyeaters turn.. The young ones Already been in once but decided to have another dive, I don't like that look Almost looks like the feathers are so heavy... They are off as here comes Dad next. Oh one of the young ones has come back.. First in best bathed I supposed.. Hey Dad I beat Ya... Well Junior its my turn now And they both flew away then the next lot came... | |

| They certainly love their dip... you'd think they were a water bird going under like that. | |

| Yes you would Gail.. Strange enough most of the birds are like that here..
The Pigeons would be the only ones that dont go into the water ..

| Lovely series MA . not everyone has a bird bath .I think most birds in your area would be headed for your garden every morning. | |

| Fab photo of them underwater, Mary-Anne. It's one of my favorites, that bird, though only visits during one season, which may be Spring from memory. They used to do what looked like bombing runs over our dam, drinking water I think as they skimmed the surface. Sadly there will be no more of that. I have NEVER seen them in my garden, strange isn't it when they seem so at home in yours? | |

| Thanks Betty..I wonder if it could be because we have so many Insects and flowering trees in the garden that they don't have to go to far to eat them there is the river across the road and the lagoon around the corner and down the street so plenty of water around for them as well like your dam..
Betty they were never around when we had the drought, If you have lots of flowering trees in your garden they will probably come and visit after all this rain you have been getting.

| Seeing I only ever see them at the dam or over in the forest, maybe there is a gum tree blossom they particularly like? The only flowering things here are the Callistemons and other natives. | |

| You could be right but I find these birds like the exotic flowers of the Calliandra as well, all of the birds that visit here love that tall shrub.. But having said that the top of our tall 25mt gum trees are covered in cream flowers at present as the cockatoos are having a ball ripping them apart so are other birds and maybe they like them too. | |
