| This one still gets me... I know I have seen it somewhere, either in a book or the actual plant but I just can't remember. It looks so familiar. The closest I can get is myrtacaea. I keep coming back to Rhodomyrtus macrocarpa but it doesn't quite fit though the fruit is poisonous which would explain why nothing touches it. It is very similar in many ways. The fruit looks like a syzygium but the flower isn't right. The flowers in bunches on the ends of the branches are confusing too. | |

| Thanks Gail . yes its a mystery , I am still searching through the rainforest key programe I have and have not come yet to anything that looks like it . I also have a pic of the tree trunk which I forgot to put on. I''ll try and post the trunk bark here it may help your memory. [trunk on the left] | |

| Have you cut open the fruit at all to see the inside?
I've been looking through Psidium again but even though the flowers match, the fruit seems to be round rather than long. | |
