| Very pretty Gwen its a little different.. I pruned all my Hibiscus down last weekend actually I almost murdered most of them I took no notice of the 1/3 off and chopped 3/4 off them flowers and all most of those were singles. When do your shrubs get pruned Gwen .. With all the rain we have had the last year I have had to do them three times, with all the rain you get up there in the Summer do your shrubs grow 6 ft in a few months like mine did down here. | |

| They get pruned at least twice a year now because I can't do them and John is only here 2 hours a week, sometimes he can give me an extra hour. When I was pruning ,plants got pruned whenever I thought it was necessary and that was often. My belief in the tropical garden there's only one way to prune and thats hard, mostly you can forget the third rule , thats for southern gardeners.of course there is one exception and that is for tip pruning to shape a shrub. etc. | |

| That's a beautiful hibiscus. Looks like it is just starting to get its full colours with that spotting. Did the 1st ones have more yellow round the edges or less? There is a Moonraker on this link that shows a lot of yellow (scroll down) http://www.hibiscus.org.au/Show07/Sunday/Sunday.htm | |
