I was busy in the shed/garage trying to tidy it up a bit and Tony telling me throw those cardboard boxes out, no I said you never know when you need one then we hear the chooks going off their heads that usually mean something is there that should not be, and as I raced upstairs to get my camera Tony headed for the chook yard and look what was there..
A Galah strutting around as though it owned the place
Making no attemp to fly and it could not climb very well either.
And fell down
Then the four girls attacked it I raced for the gate screaming at them
Tony raced for the shed and found his thickest leather gloves.
And picked the poor bird up, its seems ok but must have a broken wing or leg.
It seems quite at home biting through the leather to his finger
He said he felt it too
I knew that, thats why I did not pick it up
It settled down Ok in his hand then he said what will we do with it.
We could not let it go as other birds would most likely kill it.
Take it to the Vet I said, good idea said Tony now what will I put it in
Try one of those boxes you wanted me to toss out before
And he gives me a sheepish grim, see if it will have a drink first I said.
Off to the lily pond and one mouthfull was all it had..
I got a box taped duck tape across the bottom put lots of cents size holes in it for air and we put it in the boot seeing the Vet was only down the next street 3 minutes away and just as well too as the little blighter managed to pull the tape off the bottom of the box, imagine it flying around in the car while Tony was driving I dont want to go there
Nice Lady Vet said Tony, it will be well looked after then if its ok they ring the wildlife people, and if its not well I dont want to go there either..
I was still sweeping the shed/garage when Tony got back and he went straight for the ladder and put those boxes up top on the special floor he made for storing useful things
So much for me thinking I was going to see my first snake for the Season
Funny looking snake
