Oh, lovely! NEW GINGER FIRST FLOWER 203802
The Kaempheria has such beautiful, satiny foliage.
I just began to grow Globbas a year ago, I haven't seen one like yours before, it's quite marvelous.
Does it self-sow as freely as G. schomburgkii?

Oh, yes, I like the wintii, that is one of the 3 that a friend shared with me - along with an unindentified one that has purple flowers and purple-ish foliage (maybe it's 'Ruby Queen', but I'm not sure) and (the oh-so-prolific) schomburgkii - who has dropped her bulbils EVERYwhere, and is coming up like a weed in all of the containers that were anywhere near to it last season, as well as between the pavers on the floor of the glasshouse. Ellie , your G.schomburgkii is lovely , a bit similar to G.wintii.
Another dormant small ginger I have leaves but no flowers yet is
Siphonochilus decorus with a yellow flower .
Another is Siphonochilus involucratus , leaf has a red central stripe .

Gorgeous, NEW GINGER FIRST FLOWER 257164 that Siphonochilus, I love the red-veined foliage.
As it stands, it reminds me of a miniature version of a Curcuma that I grow, which also has the red veins.
I'll have to watch for it, I think it would be a nice companion, if it would grow here.

I like your G. wintii very much (salivating here) - here is a terrible pic of my un-identified one - some red form of wintii
(so ashamed that I didn't bother to take a better shot NEW GINGER FIRST FLOWER 914921 MUST be certain to do so next season):

also, wintii 'White Dragon' (and this pic is not much better *sigh*):

finally, here is a pic of my schomb:

Thank you, the feeling is mutual.
And yes - if you happen to come across and ID for the red wintii, I'd love to know, but no stress. NEW GINGER FIRST FLOWER 208273
