Anthurium scherzerianum - Flamingo flower or Pig tail anthurium. First time it has flowered for me since we bought it a couple of months ago. It is supposed to be an orange colour but looks redder in the photos, also the spadix (the sticky out thing) is supposed to curl a bit more hence the common name pig tail. It might curl more as it gets older.

Eucharis amazonica. This one isn't new, I've had them for a while but it hasn't flowered for quite a while since I split them up ages ago.

Thanks. I didn't know about inducing flowers either until I came across the info a few months ago. Mine used to flower off and on without any special treatment but I had to split it up as it was getting too pot bound.

Nice Anth Gail, they are a great species, I think I lost mine the same as yours and another mottled hybrid. duh duh
As in lost I mean they are dead, not cant be found lol, but they may come back. I made the mistake of throwing my 'dead' aroids away, and have now learned to keep the pots, as they have a chance of coming back, even if only minimally with Anthuriums...

That's a shame Ed. When mine gets big enough I'll save a piece for you... be a while though as it isn't very big yet.

I've found that philos and similar are good at coming back to life thumbs-up
