| Frangipani don't know whether to drop their leaves or not - the first one in the pic still has most of its leaves, the 2nd one further back has a few leaves and the one furtherest away hasn't any leaves at all When the Medinilla pendula finishes flowering it is covered by these pretty pink berries for a couple of months - look nearly as pretty as the flowers. They are just starting to ripen and turn black. I can't believe the waterlily is still flowering, usually dies back over winter. It doesn't want to open today though as it's too cloudy Golden Penda is nearly out... taking ages to open Also came across this Striped Ladybird Beetle - Micraspis frenata on the hibiscus plant | |

| Just love that lady beetle. do the Medinella grow from seed .if so could you save me a few . This morning I ordered a few plants from the nursery ,Medinella was on my list but I changed it to "Justica carnea " and" Justica carnea alba" at the last minute. Limberlost nursery had on back order for mr Bauhinia blakeana [no seed pods]and they rang to say it was in stock now . As I have to pay freight on one box which can fit up to 6 pots seems a waste to send one pot in a box. Thats my excuse anyway.I've also ordered 2 more Duranta , one "white" and the other" Geisha girl" they are very showy. | |

| Which medinilla do you have Marlene? Mine usually starts flowering around Sept or Oct and stays in flower for 3 or 4 months or more followed by berries which can hang on until at least July. It is rarely without a flower or berry. It did take a year or so to settle in before it started flowering though. | |

| My M. magnifica hasn't flowered yet but I haven't had it very long. I think it flowers the same time though - spring and summer. You probably get some flowers this year. | |
