I 've waited ages for the nursery to get this Bauhinia blakeana for me , as this one has sterile flowers, therefore no nuisance seed pods. The tree is still in the pot but is flowering. Today it has 2 blooms open and more buds . Faye took these pics when it had only one bloom.

They really are a beautiful tree and worthy of the name orchid tree. When fully grown and in full flower they are truly a stunning sight.

Thank you Gail and MA .
I love that one of your but the seed put me off. Up here the seeded Bauhinia are a curse they have taken over on so many river and creek banks , they grow think like a forest thicket.
I have trouble with Poinciana th come up by the hundreds and in my soil they really take off.

I know what you mean and how you feel Gwen. whistle

Down here its the dreaded Calliandra that drops the jolly seeds and thousands of the seedlings pop up most of the year club
