Just a few of anthuriums we are growing. They are all looking a bit yellow from the cold and I'm surprised they are still flowering at this time of year here.

White which was given to me by Marlene. The flower has nearly finished so starting to look a little worse for wear. Marlene, did this one have a name... if it did I must have forgotten to write it down

Sorry Mary-Anne, don't know the name of that one. We bought them from the Yandina markets a few months ago. The flowers are not big ones, only about half an inch or so bigger than the little light pink one I gave you... say about 5cms or so long. In this photo there are two different colours, one is a lighter pink, the other is the dark pink.

Yes that's it Gail, spot on with size I just went out with the ruler, looks the same in old age, and the newly opened pic is like one I have here.

Thanks for that and if you ever find out the name I would love to know..

Gail . Do you keep all your Anthuriums in pots, have you any planted in the garden or of trees .
I had 2 on a tree , one is doing ok but not brilliant the 2 nd one was not doing well so into a pot it went , later it went into the shade garden and its making new leaf now . I don't like to keep a lot of pots apart from getting new plants established ready for planting as it is more watering for Faye.
.I have been thinking I could have Anthuriums and such plants in pots and bury them in the mulched shade garden where the watering system is set up . Hey is that a good plan or what. thumb2 hammer hammer hammer hammer hammer

Gwen, it is too dry here to grow anthuriums epiphytically but planted a couple in the ground a couple of years ago though thinking about digging one out which is slow, the other is doing well. We will plant more in the ground eventually but we want to grow them on a bit first as some aren't very big yet and get a few cuttings of them growing too. Small plants in the garden here tend to get lost or forgotten duh I water pots every day in summer, every 2nd day or less in winter, the garden has to manage by itself.
