Bought more anthuriums on the weekend

When we were at Yandina on Saturday we checked out the markets and bought more anthuriums

These two were a bargain at $4 each as they were a bit overgrown and ratty looking but won't take much to get them looking good again... and get a couple of extra plants as they need cutting and anthuriums grow very easily from pieces cut off They are big plants about 70cm tall in 20cm pots. Big sized flowers too

We paid $10 each for these 4 but they are big plants in 20cm pots and can easily be split into at least 10 more plants each... not that we will split them yet anyway. I can't resist a bargain. A smaller flower on these. Looks like they got a little sunburnt on a couple of leaves when we put them under the tree but no harm.

Had fun trying to take the photos as it is fairly windy out there so some a little blurred... doesn't matter though.

You can always hire a removalists truck

To get a bargain, it helps to know what you are looking at. We often get them from sellers who don't know the plants or we go for the ones that don't look the best - many people walk past a plant that is a bit yellow or chewed, not realising that in a few weeks after repotting and feeding or planting in the ground, the plant will be back to looking good.

I agree Gail.. Some plants dont look right at the markets some are just dug up the day before and shoved in a pot but a little TLC makes them look good again..
