| Plenty of Fungi growing in the soil and mulch.. Except this one that's growing in a dead branch in the old Chickie cage. I forget this ones name and I am too tired to look it up.. This one needs a fairy or two under it So many clusters of these in the old potato bed.. I even got a pic of that one that looks like a body part Maybe best it was out of focus.. | |

| That first one looks like a terracotta plate. The second one like a starfish. We get nothing as exotic around here.....mainly the big ones with white underneath that mustn't be eaten. I did get Ian a really nice feed of lovely mushrooms the other day though, from our stable paddock. | |

| We get lots of strange one here Betty, the think the warmer climate may have something to do with it I dont remember seeing those in my garden down south.
Fay its out of focus, it so wet and slippery down the back and the way my body had to twist to get them was unreal, it reminds me of a orange slice. | |

| Fungi are so interesting to look at. We get a lot of those first ones in different colours on the logs around the gardens... add character The second one is a stink horn or carrion fungus or something similar... have to look it up later... just don't try and smell it... rotten meat smell Can't see any fairies yet under the next one. Noticed heaps of those last ones around the other day... they turn into such strange shapes as the age. | |

| Strange that as we get them here a lot, and believe me when I say there is nothing wrong with my nose and I have never smelt them yet, maybe they have to start decaying before that happens.. Next time I am out in the garden and see one I will have a whiff and let you know | |

| I've had a whiff of them before, see them occasionally here but used to get them a lot at my parents place years ago. Usually smell when the have a lot of brown slime stuff on the top... you'll know what I mean when you see it. | |

| Found this link about Stinkhorns. I was surprised to see that it seems more common down south. http://fungimap.rbg.vic.gov.au/fsp/sp003.html This one shows the slime http://www.anbg.gov.au/fungi/images-captions/aseroe-rubra-0075.html | |

| I went out before and had a smell of those red ones there was no slimy stuff on top either Gail a little brown there that was all so probably why it did not smell, actually it looks kind of dried out after two days so maybe it dried up in that time. | |

| You probably missed the slime as they only live a day or two and only have the slime for a short while | |
