| You must have some seriously beautiful vases of roses at times for your house, Val. I've got a way to go to catch up to you.
Thanks, Gwen. A lot of mine haven't flowered yet, too young and the conditions are against them. | |

| I only cut my roses when there are hot days forecast Betty. Like now! I just went outside and came straight back in, it's too hot to work out there. 31.5 and I'm not up to the challenge today! Later when it's cooler I'll see if there's any worth cutting for the house. | |

| I cut what I could yesterday, Val. Ordinarily I'd rather they stayed on the bush. Still, it's lovely when you really HAVE to bring them in. | |

| Magnificent! I can't wait for my roses to be old enough to produce blooms so beautiful. | |

| Val, in your last photo, what is the name of the dark pink rose on the left, very cupped? It's a gorgeous rose and I'd be surprised if it turned out to be one I have here. | |

| Thank you again ladies Betty that rose is Othello, a David Austin. It was one of the first roses I planted and was a misery for 2 or 3 years. Now it is giving me some beautiful blooms, really large for a DA. | |

| I'll put it on my shopping list I think, Val. I looked it up and it has a strong fragrance, and is robust, a good one for my Angel Garden. Thanks. | |

| Fabulous photo's, Val, and the roses are stunning. They all look so healthy given the awful heat wave, do you have a nice shady garden maybe? Othello looks magnificent, ditto for Teasing Georgia and Chartreuse de Parme, but I love them all! I don't think my Lilac Rose has come through such a nice colour as that but could just be the conditions up here. | |

| Betty, when Lilac Rose opened its first bud I thought "oh, just another pink rose, ho hum". But as it matures there is definitely a lilac tint to it if you look hard. I like it, it's a pretty one. Have you got Tropical Sunset? Mine has a cane about 8 ft high but I didn't think it was a climber. I'll need a ladder to see the bloom at the top! | |

| Yes, Val, I do have Tropical Sunset but it's not thriving. Obviously yours is. I'll keep an eye on Lilac Rose, but come to think of it, other roses can be pretty pale if it's too hot, so Lilac Rose might be better here in Autumn. | |
