| I think I need to find an area and begin a collection of gingers. They have such beautiful colours. Just need to make sure I can contain them I guess - don't they spread a lot? | |

| Guess it all depends.. I find the Bee Hives thicken up, as do the Butterfly, the Torch Lily, Costus, Curcuma, seems they all do, so you know where to come when you want some..Well the ones phippsy dont have Phone rings.. Tony answers Oh Hello Daniel, yes we are home, you are on your way.. Oh Good Daniel... This is the day you take a boot load of plants home with you...

| Richard The Gingers I had planted are Tropicals ,I Think Gingers generally would not like frosts,, but there could be some that do , Google a few sights to get an expert opinion. DAN,all Gingers spread ,some proberbly much more than others . I have grown only a few types before .Heliconias spread a lot but all you do fo control is keep mowing down where you don't want them. The other ones I'vs grown are what they call Shell Gingers from the Genus Alpina they are tall growers 8 ft in Cooktown and spread also , same remedy ,mow or whipper them down around the edges. There are the dormant type too which after flowering loose all leaf for their winter   . I am no expert on Gingers . | |

| Daniel went home with a boot load of plants, though only managed to give him the small red Ginger seedlings
Ran out of boot space, so another day for digging and diving the bigger Gingers..
Lots of my Gingers lose their foliage in the cooler months, dont know about the new ones I bought last year.. Time will tell.

Do you have a Doctor or local Clinic open today, is there a hospital over your way, its not nice seeing Kerrie looking unwell, I do hope Kerrie will start to feel better soon..

| Hi there...help me out Mary-Anne, please...daylillies, elephant ears, ru...something...Mary-Anne the label has faded; I cannot see the name...I think you said something like rulia...was one of two you had out front...broms, I have placed them in a biggish hole, surrounded them with dirt and mulch and will plant progressively; hopefully all this week. Will depend a bit on Kerrie and the doctor I guess...as well as that other thing that distracts me far too much...work. | |

| I hope you managed to get Kerrie the Doc's OK...
Yes that's it Gail Ruellia macrantha I popped two pieces in a bed like you said and they both grew into nice little bushy plants over the summer http://www.plantsafari.com/Catalog/Detail/01020.html
Then there was the Walking Iris white blue and brown and the yellow one its only two pieces I think, Dieties bicolor, Dieties grandiflora , Red Ginger Seedlings
Next time its Liriope, many more broms, clivia and perhaps Caladium and Anthurium who knows hey Daniel.

| I have planted out about 1/2 of what you gave me Mary-Anne, my only concern is that I do not have enough good loam/compost etc to plant them in. I will to try to build up the soil around them.
Kerrie went to doctor today - more tests Thursday. Looking at Gall Bladder.
