Nice pics, Gwen. I like the Lysimachia, it's a new one for me, and the Portulaca's looking good. I don't know either of your flies

I used to have Lysimachia in a large hanging pot years ago... lost it in one of our many moves though I'd forgotten about it but it I have a spot that would suit it nicely so must look out for one next time I'm near a nursery.
Portulacas are looking good
The green fly has the very original name of Green Long Legged Fly. They are a good one that eats pests. http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_flies/DOLICHOPODIDAE.htm
Not sure what the wasp is, I'll have a look tomorrow.

Love the Lysimachia Gwen its very pretty.
Your other insect looks like the Male, Banded caterpillar parasite Wasp http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_parawasps/BandedCaterpillarParasite.htm
This pic may be more clearer http://www.ozanimals.com/Insect/Banded-Caterpillar-Parasite-Wasp-/Ichneumon/promissorius.html

Thank you Yes that LYSIMACHIA is pretty , some time back it was whippered off by the mower crew but has recovered, its still prett small but I think when the warm returns it should go ahead.
Gail ,thanks for fly info ans that site . yes thats it, we also get the metallic blue flies.
MA thanks for the wasp info and 2 sits . I think they are both pretty insects . Those wasps . There are so many wasps ,perhaps all , that lay their eggs into living insecys or fruits.. Like the Strangler Fig , a wasp lays its eggs in the fruit . if I had another lifetime I'd study insects and archiology.
