This shrub has flowered for the first time . I collected a piece from our block . I don't know what it is yet but it reminds me of a Dracaena or a Cordyline.

It does look like some sort of dracaena or cordyline... my first thought was a mature Dracaena sanderiana, the one that is often called Lucky Bamboo and usually grown in water. I planted some of mine in the ground (I was given one as a gift) but it isn't anywhere as big as that yet so don't know what it will look like when mature. It's probably not that but is similar. More likely D. deremensis but not sure what the flower looks like. D. fragrans looks similar but has a different flower.

Thanks Gail, Its a bit hard to tell, mine has been there several years and I always kept it chopped of to encourage side growth ,now the trunk is like a small tree trunk. the leaves are plain green
and have a tendency to hang down then curve inwards , I have them comming up in several places as small plants and its very easy to grow from cutting.
